Joyce Esther Henriott

Joyce Esther (Clark) Henriott, age 73, entered Heaven July 26, 2020 at home. She was born November 5, 1946, at the Clay County Hospital in Brazil, IN, to Thomas and Cyrena Clark and grew up in Terre Haute, graduating from Gerstmeyer High School in 1964 and Indiana State University in 1968. Joyce also obtained a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from DePauw University. She was an elementary school teacher for a total of 38 years, including one year teaching in the Department of Defense elementary school in Augsburg, Germany. She made teaching fun for her students and also passed on the excitement for learning to her nieces and nephews. Joyce retired in May 2011 after teaching 32 years in the Paris Union District #95 in Paris, IL. When she wasn't teaching school, Joyce was active for many years in the church choir and working in children's education at church. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Cyrena Clark; and a younger brother, Tommy Clark. She is survived by her husband, Gordon Henriott; one son, Tom (Celia) of Terre Haute; a granddaughter, Rylee Henriott of Terre Haute; her brother, Keith Clark (Kathy) of Bakersfield, CA; her brother, Ray Clark (Jeanette) of Kyle, TX; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, July 31, 10 AM to noon at World Gospel Church, Terre Haute, IN. Funeral service starting at noon at the church. The family would like to thank the VNA Hospice of the Wabash Valley for the care they gave Joyce in her last days.
