Mildred "Millie" Wheat

Mildred “Millie” (Walter) Wheat, 90, of Indianapolis, and formerly of Atherton, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. She was born on July 27, 1928, in Clinton to James and Mary (Pyle) Walter. Millie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Max B. Wheat; and two brothers. She is survived by her sons, James, Walter, Charles, and David; daughters, Maxine and Nancy; nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Max and Millie raised their family in Atherton. She worked at Vermillion Convalescent Center and at Kroger in North Terre Haute. Per Millie’s request, cremation was chosen and a private memorial service will be held. She will be laid to rest next to Max in Roselawn Memorial Park. Mattox-Wood Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
