Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home & Rosewood Memorial Park
MM1 (SW/AW/EXW) Daniel Everett Rosinus, 34, passed away April 16th 2018 from a sudden
heart attack in Chicago, IL. At the time, he was serving as a Machinist Mate A-School Instructor
at the Surface Warfare Officers School Command Unit Great Lakes.
Dan was born in Winchester, Massachusetts, and was the youngest son of RMC (SW) (Ret.)
Jon Rosinus of Norfolk and Phyllis Carlisle of Madison, CT. Dan’s childhood dream was to join
the US Navy and travel the world. He enlisted in the Navy in 2006, embarking on all-too-short
career filled with numerous sea tours and travel across the globe. Dan touched many lives, both
in his Navy Family and among many friends. His lively personality and love for living in the
moment will serve as a great inspiration for all who knew him.
Dan is lovingly remembered by his father Jon; mother Phyllis; brother Ben (Leakhena); sister Caitlin; maternal grandparents June and Stuart Carlisle; aunt Ginny Archer (Scott); 3 uncles, Doug Carlisle (Renee DeGoursey), Bob Rosinus, and Jim Rosinus; and a host of extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 6-9:00 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Dan’s name.
