John Bernhardt Schoenfeld

John Bernhardt Schoenfeld, 80, passed away on April 13, 2018. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Grace and Henry Schoenfeld. John served his country in the U.S. Navy for 23 years and retired from the Air Rework Facility after 18 years. He was the owner of Claudia’s, Murry Jr’s and the Granby Lounge. John was a kind, generous, and funny man who was loved by all who knew him. He never said a bad word about anyone. He loved taking trips to Hatteras and enjoyed the beach. John was an avid coin collector, enjoyed gardening and beer. He was predeceased by his first wife, Claudia Schoenfeld; and a son, Jean Pierre Schoenfeld. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Irene “Reenie” Patterson-Schoenfeld of Norfolk; daughter Jennifer Lemay (Ken) of MA; sons Jean Marc Doyle and John Henry Schoenfeld both of Norfolk; grandchildren Justin M Ferrara, Grace E Lemay, Brandon Doyle, and Amber Doyle; great grandson Caleb Ryan Lemay; and his furry children Guinness and Tux. A celebration of Life will be held from 6-8:00 PM, on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Democratic Club, 9615 Granby St # A, Norfolk, VA 23503.
