Frances Jean Hellier

Frances Jean Bistle Hellier, age 90, passed away on February 16, 2021, at Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg. She was the daughter of Robert Bistle and Mabel Thompson Bistle. Preceding her in death were her parents, her son E. Kevin Hellier, two brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, Donald J. Hellier; son, Benjamin R. Hellier (Cathy); five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Russell and sisters, Ann and Lynn, as well as many nieces and nephews and their children. Mrs. Hellier had a special relationship with her nieces, Donetta and Vonnie Lynne. Jean was born and raised in Finleyville, Washington County, PA, and lived for a number of years in Hermitage, PA, before moving to Williamsburg in the 1990s. She was a member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church. Jean was the consummate housekeeper. No one kept a cleaner and more organized home. She was an excellent needleworker, and her family cherishes the items she made. Jean's cooking was legendary, and her home was always open to her children's friends. She was like a second mother to Norman Swiger and Paul Baxter. Jean enjoyed playing pinochle with her family and friends. The family wishes to thank her caregiver Annie as well as everyone who works at Hospice House and supports that institution. A memorial service will be held when it is safe to gather.
