Tommy Gene Casto, age 90, peacefully passed away at his home in Williamsburg, Virginia, on April 27, 2024. Tom was proceeded in death by his parents Clyde and Icie Mae Casto, his daughter Deborah Sue Casto Walker, her husband Kenneth Ray Walker, and grandson Jeremy Ray Walker.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Carolyn Sue Casto, his grandson Justin Walker, his wife Brandi Walker, and granddaughters, Victoria and Reagan Walker, all who reside in Williamsburg, Virginia. Victoria and Reagan Walker were the highlight of Tom’s life.
Born on May 18, 1933, in Red House, West Virginia, Tom had ten siblings to include Carroll, Rockford, Cylde, William, Brenda, Betty, Willidean, Gene, James, and Patsy.
Tom was an energetic man who liked to stay busy. He was a Korean War veteran, retired from Union Carbide, as a Project Manager and Cost Engineer, and then worked several years for BE&K. In retirement, he volunteered for 20 years with the American Red Cross, traveled much of the world, and also volunteered locally in Williamsburg, Virginia.
In his leisure time he enjoyed working with his hands, was a devoted West Virginia Mountaineer fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for a donation to a charity or organization of your choosing.
Tom Casto will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and friend. His stories, wisdom, and the warmth of his company will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
