On August 11, 2021, Giovanni Nozzolillo was reunited in heaven with his mother, Autilia Romano, father, Pasquale Armando Nozzolillo, and sister and brother-in-law, Angelina Nozzolillo and (Genesio D’amato). Although he will be eternally missed here on earth, we take comfort in knowing we’ve all been gifted a big-hearted angel to watch over us.
Giovanni was born in Castel Volturno, Italy, on August 8, 1962. He was a brother to Francesca (Genaro), Alfonsina (Angelo), Anna Maria (Salvatore), Angelina (Genesio), and Patricia (Luigi).
On September 3rd, 1983, Giovanni married the love of his life, Dorothy. Together, Giovanni and Dorothy were an unstoppable team that achieved many accomplishments. On August 12th, 1989, Giovanni (who did not speak a lick of English) moved his family to the United States with the goal to provide a better future for himself and his family. From the moment he arrived, he worked tirelessly to achieve their goal of owning a successful underground utility company. Giovanni truly loved and took great pride in his business.
Giovanni’s greatest achievement, however, was being a great husband to Dorothy, father to their three children, Armando (Amy), Roberto Gianni, and Angela Autilia, and “nonno” to his two beautiful granddaughters, Ava and Giada. Giovanni was cherished and admired by his family. Giovanni was an amazing man.
He carried a serious, yet jovial demeanor that was infectious to all who he encountered. He possessed an incredible ability to instill in people the belief that they could do anything. He was smart, confident, and determined, yet exuded a welcoming and somewhat playful energy that was mesmerizing. Giovanni made friends WHEREVER he went. For fun, Giovanni LOVED cars (and anything with an engine, really). Sports cars, trucks, jeeps, an ill-advised boat purchase, and heavy equipment. You name it, he probably had it.
Giovanni will be deeply missed by his mother/father-in-law, Maria and Jimmy, sisters-in-law, Anna (Ciro David), Lisa (Francesco), Mary (Tom), Rosy (Brian), and Judy (Mike), nieces and nephews, Jimmy, David, Michael, Giuseppe, Joey, Julian, Tommy, Austin, Dorian, Liana, Justin, Maria Rosaria, Antonio, Rafaella, Autilia, Giovanni, Armando, Susana, Tiziana, Alessio, Angelica, Luca, Anna and Emanuela. In addition to his large family who loved him tremendously, which includes too many aunts, uncles and cousins to list, Giovanni touched the lives of an immeasurable number of friends around the world.
We will be honoring the amazing life of Giovanni on Sunday, August 22, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens, located at 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, 32250.
Due to the nature of his passing, his family respectfully requests that all guests wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html?sc_icid=home-btn-donate-now) or to Baptist Health Care’s Covid-19 Response Fund (https://www.baptisthealthcarefoundation.org/covid-19-donation).
