LUCKY(POGI) - EULOGY SPEECH

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Today, we say goodbye to a man whose personality was as vibrant as the stories he told and as warm as the laughter he shared. My Uncle who I call papang or pang was a force of nature, a man whose mere presence could light up a room and whose words could make even the most ordinary day feel like an adventure.

Papang was also the epitome of kindness. He treated everyone, regardless of age, status, or background, with the same genuine interest and respect. He had the rare ability to make you feel like you were the most important person in the world, giving you his full attention and listening not just with his ears but with his heart, Even though he jokes a lot.

He had an enduring love for his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a doting uncle. His love wasn't doled out in grand gestures or lavish gifts but in the daily, consistent acts of care and kindness that stitched the fabric of our family together.

Papang, as you take this final journey, know that you leave behind a legacy of love and laughter. You were a beacon of light in our lives, and though that light may have dimmed, it will never go out.

We extend our deepest condolences for the sudden loss of Uncle Jerry. May his family find comfort in knowing he lived according to the values which made him a great man. And I wish you the strength to move forward while carrying his precious memories. 

Just like he built homes and other structures, he set down strong foundations and constructed a life for himself. He built load bearing walls around his loved ones with those two hands. He sheltered and protected them like a solid roof able to withstand the elements. He was always a home to return to, a door opening into the warmth. 

Now we stand in awe of his life’s work, time spent with intention and utmost care. I did not personally spend much time with Uncle Jerry, but I see the foundations, the walls, the roof, and the door in those who succeed him. And I’m confident he will never be forgotten.

I am relatively new to the Maulit family, and did not get to spend very much time with Uncle Jerry; however this is a great regret for me as I truly wished to know him better.

My time interacting with Jerry was unfortunately brief as I have met him only a few times during a visit to Vegas with my wife Claire. Without question, he housed us and provided for us while we visited. During my limited time with him, I immediately sensed a strong character, a talented person, and a humble heart; qualities that have made me love his sister and my mother-in-law, Maritess. 

I also heard tell of his legendary talents as both a handyman and an engineer and how he empowered his family with these skills. Impressed with this, I looked through his tools to see if I could buy him anything he did not have; I ended up buying him a neat little multitool and he accepted it gracefully. Hearing about his passing has brought quite a bit of pain, even from a relatively distant outsider like myself. 

I have recently lost a father as well, and to his children I would like to offer some of my insights. While your father is gone now, you can still embolden his existence and his value to the world by being the best you can be. Every one of your accomplishments will honor him and be the vessel for his continued influence on the world. Be your best selves and teach your children to do the same and he will never truly be lost.

Dear Jerry,

You left the world too soon. Without you, our world has grown dimmer. The weather cries for your loss and the sun barely touches this Earth. Many individuals mourn the loss of George Perucho and his bright smile, humorous jokes, sincerity, and kind soul. He was too young and it was all too sudden. Our family was given no time for such unforeseen events. He put so much effort into helping and making his family happy. His kind acts and sacrifices will forever be remembered. He gave us what we now wish to give back. Now he has entered the embrace of God and hopefully then, he will receive the treatment and the kindness that he has given us. His sacrifices to help his children, siblings, and family members will be engraved in the brains of his loved ones. We will continue his legacy by spreading his acts of kindness. We wish we could have done more for you. You were an important factor in our lives and I hope you knew that. Nothing and no one will ever replace your presence. We hold your memories dear to us. May you rest in peace in the loving embrace of heaven. We will all reunite once more, but until then, we will take your memories with us as we continue to move forward.

Uncle Jerry, 

Like everyone else who knew and loved you, I’m also shocked that you were taken away from us too soon. My deepest consciences, especially to my auntie Nora, my cousins, and the rest of our immediate family. You were always kind, helpful, and never complained. I can see how much of an impact you’ve made on your family – seeing how extremely kind and others-focused they are, and are still strong enough to stand on their own. I know my cousins are going to make you and auntie Nora so proud. 

Your goodness was a blessing. For all the times we might have forgotten to thank you; for all the special little things you’ve done with no expectations; I hope the message gets to you that you are loved, appreciated, and will be truly missed.

Pang, thank you so much na ikaw ang naging ama ng apat nating anak, dahil napakabuti mo bilang asawa at ama sa mga anak natin. Thank you sa walang sawang pagmamahal for almost 27 years nating pag sasama. Hindi tayo nag away, yan ang laking pasasalamat ko napakabait at mabuting asawa at ama mo. Thank you na dinala mo kami dito sa US for the sake of our good future kahit na alam ko na mas gusto mo sa pinas. Pang pray mo kami my God na bigyan pa ako nang mahaba-habang buhay para ma subaybayan ang ating mga anak hanggang sa marating nila ang mga pangarap nila sa buhay. Pang your memories will always be in my heart. I will miss you so much until we meet again.

I extend my sincerest apologies for the delay in conveying this message, as I have found it exceedingly difficult to articulate the profound sorrow and grief that my family and I are enduring. The suddenness of the situation has rendered it challenging for me to come to terms with my father's passing; the mere act of writing about his departure while still yearning for his presence is an overwhelmingly grueling task. Thus, I write this message with a heavy heart. My father, a figure of immense admiration, has been my idol as he guided me throughout my life. Through his teaching, I acquired the skills and confidence necessary to navigate various facets of life, encompassing business, career, finances, and above all the importance of family. His influence on my life is unparalleled and everlasting. Rather than enumerating my personal triumphs, I believe it more fitting to demonstrate the invaluable lessons I have imbibed from him through my character and accomplishments, as they will speak volumes in their own right. With that sentiment in mind, I express profound gratitude to those who have contributed to the compilation of photographs and the organization of my father's funeral arrangements. My gratitude also extends to the people who have offered their condolences in this difficult time. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

To our dear friend George. Thank you for your kindness. You really a great man. Napakabuti mong kaibigan. Maraming salamat sa mga kabutihang pinakita mo sa amin. Lagi ka nasa aming panalangin. May you rest in peace.

My tito Gerry was the kindest human I’ve ever known.  Without hesitation, he will be there when you need a helping hand. Despite his extreme shyness, he built special connections with family and friends.  Many wonderful memories made. He will always have a special place in my heart. I’m devastated knowing my children will be growing up without him around.  The world lost another beautiful soul.  He is now resting in peace with the Creator, looking down and smiling at us. 

Taken too soon. This will be difficult for all of us especially for Tita Nora, Anne Claire, Eunise, Justin and PJ.  Prayers to all.

To my superhero,

I was never really afraid of anything because I know you will be there to come to the rescue. Whenever I encounter troubles you are the first one I call. You were always there to help and I never hear a single complaint. There are a lot of others out there who are amazing but in my eyes you are the best. You are the one I look up to the most. I really miss your smile. I miss our laugh whenever we face problems. I miss you more with each passing day. I wish this is all a dream. That none of these is real. Right now I am at a loss on what to do. How do I face every single day without you? Dad, I still don’t have the answer but for now I will try to be strong for mom and for our family.

Tito Jerry, In behalf of the Inovino family, we are saddened of your death. Thank you for everything that you have done to our family. You have a good and kind heart. We will always pray for your soul.. May you rest well in paradise tito. Guide Mama Nora always as she continue to live in this life without you. May all your happy memories make her stronger. You will never be forgotten tito, we love you!

At this moment,.I’m still in shock what happened to my brother George Jerry Perucho.
We had so much memories when we are young,we grew up as we are so close together,having fun and enjoying our childhood.
He had so much plans ahead.Family  is his priority.
We chat a lots..huh and i know and understand what he wants to be.
He is carried away all for the sake of his loved ones “Our Family “
