

Known to his friends as “Wildie,” Jackson was a commercial fisherman. He most recently spent time in the rivers and waterway of NC as a crabber after years of shrimping and fishing. He was born March 25, 1948 in Southport, NC to Albert and Carrie Jackson who have preceded him in death. Southeastern Brunswick County has always been his home. He grew up working at the family store in Ash before assisting with Jackson’s Seafood in Calabash. He was the second-oldest of four children, and affectionately known as “Buddy” to his little sister Carolyn who also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Donna, daughters Tonia Jackson (Joseph Murphy – Raleigh, NC), Tammy Bain (Noel – Sulphur Springs, TX), three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include Kenneth Jackson (Pearlene – Calabash) and Ellis Jackson (Anita – Ash), along with several nieces and nephews. Also like brothers, he leaves behind his close friend Jim Stuparitz, Ironically, his friend Jerry McCall also passed away earlier in the morning on the same day.
