My dad was fond of saying that he grew up in the smallest town, in the smallest county, in the smallest state in America and spent the best years of his life in the largest town in Massachusetts.  

Anyone who knew him knows that he loved his family and friends, cars, a good joke, and lobsters and clams … not necessarily in that order. 

If he were here today, he wouldn’t miss the chance to tell you the story about when I was 10 years old and he took me for clam cakes, which I always had loved until that day.  When asking me why I wasn’t eating any, I replied I hadn’t known that there were clams in them until now.  When asked what I thought was in them, I replied, “Well there is no ham in hamburger.” 

He loved that story.  He loved all stories.  And he never missed the chance to spin a yarn and try to make people laugh.  

My dad had a nickname for everyone.  Peterson for his friend Lacy ... Sausage, Link, and Patty … the list goes on and on.  He also had nicknames of his own.  Sweet Lou because he was.  Tiny, even though his outsized personality was anything but.  

He was funny, charismatic, and charming.  He lit up a room.  People gravitated toward him.  When I was a boy walking around with him in Plymouth or at the Bristol 4th of July parade, everyone knew him.  I was always in awe of that.  I always wanted to be like that.  I don’t know that I’ll ever quite figure out how he did it.  

But I do know this: It's now up to us to keep his light alive.  Call that friend and tell them a joke.  Take a chance, talk to that stranger, and make them laugh.  Reach out to someone and tell them that you love them.  Don’t wait.  Shine like he shined. 

Ultimately, we all wish we could hear one more of his stories and one more of his jokes.  I would give anything for one more of his big hugs.  But when the waves of sadness have passed, we'll be left with the memories, the stories, and the laughs.  We'll think of him and smile.  Where the pain once was, only love will remain.


So Sorry to hear of Lou’s passing  He was a great guy and always gave you a laugh!!

I knew lou for over 30 years and remember really good times with him. I did my best to help when I could. He was always ready to help me whenever I needed it. Sorry we lost touch towards the end. Rest in peace leon

You are such a great guy. Always happy and in a good mood when we were together. Or when Ronnie and I ran into you with a smile and a wave.  We are so sorry that you have gone but we are so happy to have had you in our lives. We will see each other again friend, until that day God Bless you and Thank You for being such a great guy.

Lou was a good friend. He was a neighbor of mine for the last few years and we use to enjoy going out to dinner every Friday night. We would talk, laugh and just have a good time. I miss him.

Condolences for the loss of your father thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you celebrate his life 🙏🙏🙏 while I didn't know Lou personally, I heard many stories laughs ,tales and shenanigans about him from my deceased boyfriend Lenny Raymond may they both share laughs and stories in heaven 

Louie was a true car guy. From the first time I met him in the early 70’s, he was always wheeling, dealing and full of life and jokes. He was one of the originals. Say hi to the gang up there. Until we meet again., RIP.

Lou baby! Terry Sue here!!! This was an inside joke between Lou and I. Lou was the most incredible human being and friend . I’ve know Lou since the 80’s. He was a part of an elite crew of people in my life. Lou was always by my side and had my back. I could always count on him and he knew I would do the same for him. I will miss his jokes and his laughs He always told me “ your the best”  he was so smart and witty. He never forgot a single thing and he would make a joke out of everything and make you laugh! We knew all about each other and our lives. An all around great person. I will miss you Lou. Still can not believe you are gone. I hope your making people laugh in heaven. I was so shocked to hear of Lou’s passing.
He and my husband had such a wonderful relationship both being in the car business.
When my husband came out of the hospital with back surgery Louie was the only one that  was in the car business that came to the house to  take him to lunch. I spoke with Louie once s month with him inquiring about my husband who has Alzheimer’s.
Louie was such a religious soul, while in Plymouth went to church on Saturdays, always so jealous that I didn’t have that faith.
Lou will always hold a special place in my heart.

I became friends with Lou at East Bay Grille in Plymouth 25+ years ago  - he was a great guy with a big smile and a warm greeting. We had a lot of laughs and good times together. He would often send me DM after his move to FLA with various memes and quips and of course a pretty lady or two. When I lost my wife a few years ago he was always offering encouragement and good vibes. I will forever remember him holding court at Levi’s Gulf - really sad to learn about this and I’m so very sorry for everyone’s lost and I for one will never forget him - he called me  “Walnuts” lovingly & respectfully I might add because of my Soprano like stature. RIP Bud 🙏💔

Tiny,  It's been a long time. Some of my fondest childhood memories
are preserved in the pictures my Mom (Elizabeth Francis Aguiar.) kept. They are now mine. As I  Look at the photos I see young cousins
arm in arm wearing the biggest  mischevious looks on your face. 
 He often came to visit (Vava) at "The Farm" with Aunt Veronica (His Mom.)    (Present day 594 Metacom Avenue, Bristol, R I)
We would often go on adventures that took us exploring numerous empty sheds. And of course "Te  Barn." empty and expansive we climbed all over if. Once when he visited he no sooner got out of his mom's car when VaVo gabbed us both and kicked our rear ends. When we asked why he kicked us he simply said that's for the trouble you'er going to do.  There were bikes in the second story Hay Loft. We would race around and around singing songs by Jan and Dean or share stories of our most recent girl fiends.
It's interesting that toward the end of last month I thought of him. How I'd like to talk to him about our past adventures.

Cousin "John Henry."  All though every one has always called me John. He got a laugh about my name 

I will always remember the man I knew Lou to be. The man who made me laugh,  danced with me in the aisles of the grocery store,  loved me.  The man that loved the Thanksgiving Day Parade in Plymouth,  MA as much as me, held my hand walking down the street, opened doors, and walked on the left of me protecting me as we walked down the street. Coffee in the mornings, the morning view of the Plymouth Brownstone, the July 4th Apple Martinis.  I loved you Lou, I will always love the man I knew you to be.  I pray that you will find peace.
