Obituary of Michael D. Wiblin
Michael Don Wiblin, known to his friends as “Mike”, passed away at his home on Friday, April 12, 2019. Mike is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Hamilton Wiblin. He is also survived by a brother Howard Wiblin, who lives in West Virginia. Mike was born in West Virginia and arrived in Hanover County in 1973 to assume the job of Director of Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service (“ASCS”). Mike served 30 years in the U.S. Navy Reserve, including 2 years active duty in Vietnam aboard the air craft carrier Intrepid, now the Air and Space Museum in NYC. Mike retired from the ASCS in 1996 with 30 years of service. In 1990 Mike and Mary bought a Hanover County farm of 20 acres on which they grew vegetables.
