Obituary of Elvet Charles Jones
Elvet Charles Jones, 101, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Solarbron. He was born April 5, 1920, in Paoli, Indiana to the late William Ed and Florence (Hall) Jones. Elvet graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis. He was stationed in the US Air Force in North Africa during WWII. Elvet retired from the IRS as an accountant. He loved being outdoors, traveling, and working outdoors. Elvet spent every summer out West in the Rocky Mountains, when his sons were growing up. He was a very loving grandfather. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Margaret (Fleming) Jones. He was her primary caregiver for several years during her battle with Alzheimers. Elvet is survived by his sons, Thomas Jones (Madonna), Van Jones (Jan) and Perry Jones (Jennifer); grandchildren, Laura Tormoehlen, Kristen Gravitt, Corey Doerman, Travis Jones, and Jessica Jones; and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Dr., Evansville, IN 47720. The funeral will be live streamed at www.Facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W.
