Obituary of Marti Lea Applegate
Marti Lea Applegate, 53, of Evansville, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, April 27, 2020. She was born October 8, 1966 in Cincinnati. At two years of age she was adopted by Dock and Maxine Amyx. Marti was a Registered Nurse in various hospitals in Indiana and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her favorite area was in OBGYN, where she assisted in delivering babies. She enjoyed scrap booking, baking, reading and watching Survivor with her family. One of her favorite places to visit was Disney World. She also enjoyed trips to Gulf Shores as she loved the beach. She was part of the McCutchanville Fire Department where her husband serves as a chaplain. As a pastor’s wife, Marti served her Lord as a worship and women’s leader. She also worked with youth and enjoyed providing meals for church events. Because of her health, she was unable to participate in the church in all the ways she wanted to, but was a wonderful example of courage and grace as she battled Lupus. She was most recently a part of the family at Mt. Pleasant Church of God in Evansville where she will be sorely missed. Marti was a devoted wife for 31 years and a wholly dedicated mother and grandmother. She loved her children with great passion. And also loved being a grandma (Mimi). Her legacy of strength, faith and courage will always be with them. She is survived by her husband, Bruce; sons, Tyler Applegate, and Jared Applegate (Allie Rhea); daughter, Katie Braker (Eric); granddaughter, Arowyn Applegate; father, Dock Amyx; step-mother, Mary Jane Amyx; brother, Randy Amyx (Jenny) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
