Obituary of Mrs. Victoria Banzon Gamiao
Victoria was born in Balanga Bataan, Philippines on August 18, 1935. She earned Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and in Banking and Finance. She later fell in love and married her “Peping”, Jose, on March 11, 1961. They celebrated 59 years of marriage that began in the Philippines and continued in the United States. She worked several years at the George Washington University and George Washington University Medical Center. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing, and spoiling her grandchildren equally with matching outfits and gifts for every occasion. She taught her children and grandchildren how to give to the less fortunate and love with all your heart. As her youngest child always said, “If Nanay could feed the world, she would.” Victoria or “Nanay” is survived by her husband, Jose Collado Gamiao or “Tatay”; her children, Bernardo Gamiao “B1”, Benedicto Gamiao “B2”, Bethsaida Hilario “B3” (and husband Rupert Hilario), Bender Gamiao “B4”, and Bernadette Alaisa “B5” (and husband Celso Alaisa); her grandchildren, Joesar Peter Alva, Jennybeth Alva, Victoria Jeanne Butler, Paul Rainier Hilario, Chanelle Gamiao, Bernard James Gamiao, Grant Gamiao, Rochelle Ann Hilario, Kenneth Ryan Alaisa, and Alex Michelle Gamiao; her sister, Francisca Bustamante; and nieces who were like daughters to her, Estrella Gonzalez, Zenaida McMahon, and Luzviminda Sanvictores.
