Edith Gray, 83, of Fort Wayne passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. She was born on January 8, 1935 in Lexington, Alabama, a daughter of the late James Franklin and Mary Alabama (Campbell) Cole. She worked for seven years at a Sinclair Station and Erwin’s Restaurant and 12 years at Morrell Motors. When her children were younger, she was active in their school programs and functions. She enjoyed working with flowers and in her vegetable garden. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to her niece, Theresia Killen, for her excellent care to Edith. Surviving family include her children, Jerry (Patricia) Gray, Connie Durnell, Brenda (Greg) Biltz, Rickie (Sally) Gray, and Milton (Gloria) Gray; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and siblings, Rubynell Smitherman and James Cole. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Milton RC Gray. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Lions Club International.
