

Lois was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the parents of Lula Marie Huchins and Curley Huchins on January 19, 1936. She was baptized at Christ Missionary Baptist Church and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Later in life Lois joined Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church.
Lois attended public school # 4 and Crispus Attucks High where she was a cheerleader during the Oscar Robertson era.
Lois was affectionately called Marie by family and friends. Marie was a very strong and independent lady who never found any obstacles that she could not overcome.
Lois was known for her kindness, humility and love for her family. Lois Marie was a member of the Fashioneer Modeling Club. She enjoyed playing cards, listening to jazz and R & B music. Roller skating was an activity that she enjoyed with her family.
Lois Marie Hill served as Director of Crosstown Multi Service Center for many years. Lois loved her job and was willing to help her community in any way possible. She also served in the capacity of caregiver for those that needed her assistance.
Lois Marie was a grandmother and surrogate mother to many. She is survived by daughters Forestene Love Ford (Tena), Sharon Love Hodgens, Shante Leann Patterson. Her grandchildren are Charles Hodgens and Quiana Sherre Ford. Lois’ great grandchildren, Charles Hodgins III, Dae Shaun Jones and Elijah Jones affectionately called her Grandma Little.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Hillard Hill and daughter Caroljean Love.
The family of Lois Marie Hill wishes to acknowledge all comforting words, cards, prayers, tributes and expressions of love and kindness at this time of sorrow. A special thanks to the staff of I. U. Hospice Care and her special friend Charles Secrest.

A visitation will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana, in Remembrance Hall. The visitation is scheduled for January 24, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same venue in Remembrance Hall, beginning at 1:00 pm on January 24, 2026.
