Obituary of Matthew Wright
Matthew Wright was surrounded by his loving friends and family as he went home to be healed by his Lord and Savior on the afternoon of October 8, 2021. Matt was born on April 17, 1965 the youngest son of Marilyn and Raymond Wright. Raised alongside his two brothers in Evansville, Matt attended FJ Reitz High School and graduated in 1983. He went on to study Business Administration at Murray State University, where he was a proud member of Sigma Chi fraternity. Shortly after graduation, he started his first job at the family business, Replas. Matt dedicated his career to helping manage and grow the family businesses, both Replas and Matrixx. Outside of work, Matt had many, more serious interests including being a Van Halen groupie, fitness enthusiast, self-taught guitar player, golfer, and memorizing (but still butchering) the lyrics to every Kenney Chesney song in existence. In 1988, Matt met the love of his life, Diana, and the two were married on October 22, 1994 at Oak Hill Bible Fellowship in Evansville. Shortly thereafter, Matt and Diana were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Jessica Hope. Jessie and Diana were Matt’s world, and the three shared a wonderful life together. Their passions included traveling the world, worshipping the Lord and celebrating the joys of everyday life with those they cherished the most. Matt never ran out of reasons to spend time with friends and family. Among his favorite pastimes were traveling with Diana and Jessie (preferably to the beach), visiting Universal Studios to geek out with Jess, spoiling his fur daughter Zoey, and meeting up with his high school and college buddies. Matt and the guys attended countless fight nights, guys trips, and most recently, they met up at Cambridge where he spoke for an uninterrupted 54 minutes straight (because he hated to talk). Matt and Diana were surrounded by a tremendous community. Outside of their close friends and family, they loved living alongside their neighbors at Cambridge Village, and were long-time members of Christian Fellowship Church. Matt’s life motto was to enjoy every moment of the time he was given. He lived his life with no regrets. He was a shining example of what a husband, father, and son should be. Matt could strike up a conversation and make friends with anyone he met, much to Diana’s dismay. He devoted his life to following Christ and thanked God every day for the beautiful life he was given. He loved his friends and family fiercely and his impact will never be forgotten. His friends and family will continue to relive their precious memories with him for years to come. Matt is survived by his wife Diana Wright; his daughter Jessica Wright; his father Raymond Wright, his brothers: Michael Wright (Debbie) and Mark Wright (Annette); his mother-in-law Middy Burns; his brothers-in-law: Gary Conder and Philip Burns (Barb); his precious pup Zoey; and many other beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Matt was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Wright. Matt’s family would like to thank Shannon Balthis, Heather Husk and the other amazing women on Vickie Bishop’s team for the love and support they provided Matt throughout the past few years. Matt’s family invites you to honor and celebrate his life on Wednesday, October 13th at Christian Fellowship Church located on 4100 Millersburg Rd, Evansville, IN 47725. The visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. CT with the service to follow at 2:30 p.m. and live-streamed at https://cfcclassic.online.church. Matt's service will be officiated by Pastor Cliff Herring. Matt’s family asks that in lieu of flowers, you might donate to the ALS Association in his name: P.O. Box 37022, Boone, Iowa, 50037-0022. Condolences may be offered at www.AlexanderEastChapel.com.
