IN THE CARE OF
National Funeral Home & Memorial Park
Elaine Bokrass (1929 – 2019) was born and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She eventually moved to Manhattan where she lived, worked and took full advantage of everything New York City had to offer.
Elaine loved to have fun. Wherever she was, she drew people to her and left a lasting impression. She enjoyed socializing, meeting new people and making friends.
Elaine traveled the U.S. and the world--from Europe to Japan to India. She was talented in knitting as well as needlepoint and created many beautiful items. She had an encyclopedic knowledge of classic movies and enjoyed the arts such as Broadway shows and the ballet. She loved pasta, rich desserts, and dark chocolate. And, she loved to shop!
Elaine worked as an executive secretary for Manhattan Shirt Company, Grey Advertising and MasterCard. And, while many dream of retirement, Elaine was quick to say that she enjoyed working.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Murray, and her parents, Rose and Benjamin. She is survived by her nieces Marilyn Bokrass, Ellen (Richard) Hall and Karen (Michael) Thomas, her grandnephew, Andrew Thomas, and her sister-in-law, Beatrice Bokrass
