Peter Phillip Flokowitsch

Peter Phillip Flokowitsch, age 74, of Columbus, formerly of Nashville died Saturday evening (06/22/19) at Columbus Regional Hospital. Born February 26, 1945 in Munich, Germany, he was the son of Peter and Rosa Maria (Knopfler) Flokowitsch. He worked at I.U.P.U.I . and later became an over-the-road truck driver. Peter served in the U.S. Army and later in the U.S. Army National Guard. He loved watching history and war documentaries, news and politics, westerns, d.v.d.’s with German Folk music and Octoberfest style scenes. He also had a special love for animals and was of the Catholic faith.
Peter is survived by one daughter, Karla Flokowitsch, of Columbus; two sisters, Helga Matthews and Ilona Montgomery and five grandchildren, Jessica, Rebecca, Rachel, Allison and Kevin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sharon Lee (Rider) Flokowitsch on May 21, 2013, one daughter, Julie Casey and one brother.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the Weeping Willow Cemetery in Bean Blossom. Burial will immediately follow.
