Neva J. Crisp

Neva J. (Birkhead) Sansing Crisp, 89, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. She was born on May 29, 1930 in Evansville to the late John and Eunice (McGrew) Birkhead. She previously worked for Cummins Diesel and Shopper’s Fair before working as a hostess and cashier for 25 years at Western Ribeye. Neva was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. As a teenager, having heard her beautiful voice, a local radio station asked her to sing on air. She enjoyed bowling and was an excellent Bingo player. Neva was a very caring and loving woman, who adored her family and will be greatly missed. Neva is survived by her husband of 10 years, Jack Crisp; daughter, Pamela Davis; sons, Steven Sansing (Cheryl) and Randy Sansing (Stacy); grandchildren, Bryan Davis, Dalton Davis, Audrey TenBarge (Jon), Nathan Sansing (Rachel), Shae Gammon and Chase Sansing; great-grandchildren, Brynn, Evan, Brayden, McKenna, Camden, Lucy, Aubrey, Landon, Annarae, Randall, and Hunter; brother, John Birkhead (Thelma); and nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Alexander East Chapel with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9:30 until service time at the funeral home.
