Obituary of Everett LeRoy Cottingham
Everett Leroy Cottingham, 94, of Kokomo, passed away November 11, 2019. He was born September 14, 1925 in Kokomo Indiana to the late Marble Franklin Cottingham and Flossie Elizabeth (Graves). He married Norma J. Chism on December 31, 1946. She passed December 10, 2016. Everett had his own painting and wallpaper business for over 50 years in Kokomo and painted the Kokomo Gas Tower. He served in the Army during WWII. Everett was a 50 year Mason and served as Treasurer for 31 years, and also enjoyed being a Shrine Clown, "Moe", for nearly 30 years. Everett loved being outside. He was a member of In His Image church for nearly 10 years. Everett could always find something to paint and keep busy. Surviving Everett are his siblings Norma Wheeler, Lois Shuck, Betty Flook, Gloria Ailor, Richard Cottingham (Linda), and Paul Cottingham (Bonnie), grandchildren Brian Carpenter, Matthew Cotham, Mellisa Cotham, and Melinda Cotham, 17 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and other family members. Preceding him in death is his wife Norma, daughter Diane, stillborn son David, siblings, Raymond, Bob, Mary, Wilbur, and infant brother, Marble "Little Jr.". Funeral services for Everett will take place Tuesday November 19, 2019 at In His Image church; 2940 E. 50 N. in Kokomo at 12 noon. The family will receive friends from 11am to noon prior to the service. There will be a Masonic service with the Naphtali #389 lodge beginning at noon. Military Honors will take place at Sunset Memory Garden cemetery following the service. In memory of Everett if you wish to donate in his memory, please do so to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
