Gayle M Berninghaus

Gayle M. Berninghaus, 85, of Connersville, died Thursday evening, November 14, 2019, at Forest Park Health Campus in Richmond. Gayle was born in West Bend, Iowa, on January 30, 1934 to Benjamin and Laura Henton Anliker. Gayle was a graduate from West Bend high school and later attended dental hygienist school. On October 21, 1953, Gayle was married to Reverend Gilbert B. Berninghaus, in West Bend, Iowa. Gayle assisted her husband with the many congregations he pastored in the Midwest. Gayle and Gilbert were both house parents for the students at the Montana School for the Deaf. In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, and cooking. Gayle was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and cherished time spent with her family. Gayle is survived by her children: Gwen and her husband, Gene Ott of Connersville; Gisele Berninghaus and her husband, Tim Van Eyck of Marshfield, Wisconsin; Gloria Music of Gillette, Wyoming; Garth Berninghaus and his wife, Cheryl of Poulsbo Washington; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters: Joyce Larson and Glenn of Des Moines, Iowa; Linda Miller and James of Cylinder, Iowa; her brother: Aaron Anliker and Marian of Harlan, Iowa. In addition to her parents, Gayle was preceded in death by her husband: Reverend Gilbert B. Berninghaus who died Sunday, November 10, 2013.
