Paul Gerard McCabe

Paul Gerard McCabe, 87, long-time resident of Boston and Brookline, MA, died February 11, 2020, in Arlington, Virginia. Mr. McCabe was born November 15, 1932, in Boston, MA to John Andrew (of Boston) and Ellen Josephine (Doran) McCabe (of Dublin, Ireland). He was predeceased by 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Paul is survived by his devoted wife of 18 years, Joan Watson McCabe, of Boston, MA, Claire H. Wade of Arlington, VA and Charles L. Gilliatt, of Fort Worth, TX, as well as 20 nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are being provided by Murphy Funeral Home of Arlington, VA. A private memorial service was held at The Jefferson Retirement Community in Arlington, VA. Mr. McCabe served in the United States Army(1951-1953) followed by Army Reserves, earning the National Defense Service Medal. He greatly enjoyed singing, dancing and golf. Over the course of his life, Paul spent summers in Wrentham, MA; Melvin Village, NH; and Little Compton, RI. He loved to read, and was a frequent visitor at his local libraries.
