Robert Wilbur Horn

Robert W Horn, 81, of Wolcottville, formerly of Harlan, passed away on April 4, 2020, at 9:15am, at his daughter's home. Born on August 20, 1938, in Garrett, he was a son of the late George and Juanita (Myers) Horn. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, as a Sargeant; he worked at Hydrodyne Boat Co. in Spencerville and Harris Deck Craft in Harlan and retired from Phelps-Dodge, after more than 23 years of service as a machinist. Robert loved to fish, and taught anyone that wanted to learn. He enjoyed going to his children's sporting events, and sometimes would even play! He enjoyed tinkering with tv's and computers, and watching old westerns amd boxing. Robert and his surviving wife of 55 years, Kathleen K (Malone) Horn raised 8 children, Tony Horn, Robert Horn Jr, Tammy (Jean, great friend) Barr, Debora Horn, Michelle (Dave) Bassett, Patrick (Kim) Horn, Vickie (Mitchell) Wright, Susann (Chad) Gottfried, 1 Grandchild John R Horn. He is also survived by his sister, Juanita Hill. He was also a Grandpa to many more grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Private family services are being held. Burial will be in Harlan Memorial Cemetery, Harlan. Memorial donations may be given to the family c/o Kathleen Horn. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hockemeyer Funeral Home, 17629 State Road 37, Harlan.
