OBITUARY
John Harvey Kallio
June 20, 1944 – September 14, 2020
IN THE CARE OF
National Funeral Home & Memorial Park
John was born on June 20, 1944, in Arlington, Virginia. John was a twin to Jim Kallio. His parents, Wilho and Tynne Kallio, were descendants of Finland. He graduated from high school and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army and the Army Reserves. He retired from the David Taylor Model Basin in Maryland. John was a very talented engineer. He enjoyed working with wood and metal on different projects at home. He loved county music and his cats, Konway, Loretta, Frankie and Johnny. When John retired, he told us he wanted to sit and watch TV and relax, and that is exactly what he did. John left his ailing body (but very sharp mind) and this present world on September 14, 2020, after a long battle with COPD. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and one sister-in-law. John is survived by two sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. John was also a great-great uncle to many. Uncle John will be missed by many, and we hope he is enjoying a family reunion in heaven. Love you Uncle John “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should have everlasting life.” John 3:16
