Anne Ferguson Schneider

Anne Schneider, 80 of Stafford passed away at Bowling Green Nursing and Rehab on Sunday, January 10, 2021. Born and raised in Ayrshire, Scotland, Anne spent her early childhood walking the beaches and moors of Scotland. As a teenager she attended Ayr Academy earning Dux each year she attended! In her early twenties, Anne met the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Schneider a member of the USAF assigned to Prestwick Air Base in Scotland. They married in 1961 and shared 60 years of marital bliss. Together they raised four children and were blessed with two amazing granddaughters. As a professional woman Anne worked in management and publishing in DC for over thirty years. Additionally, was a staunch defender of women’s rights and equality. In her leisure she loved to garden, grow orchids, and travel the world by ships and trains visiting botanical gardens and attending musicals and concerts. She enjoyed reading and writing poetry, gardening and painting flowers. She loved a good glass of wine while talking and laughing with family and friends while Scottish music like the Flower of Scotland played in the background. Anne leaves behind her spouse Dick; daughter Kristin Bond, son-in-law David and two beloved granddaughters Hannah and Emma; a daughter Leslie Schneider; a son Richard Schneider and daughter-in-law Carroll; a daughter Fiona Schneider; and her four-legged fur-baby Fergie McGhee. A sister, Drena Thompson and much-loved niece Jillian Porter, husband Alec and grand-nephew Callum. As well as a large extended and beloved Schneider and Schiller family. Predeceased in death Anne’s father George Dunlop Ferguson, and mother Margaret Ferguson Shields and husband Stuart Shields, and favorite Aunt Buntie. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers kindly donate to the Fisher House Foundation.
