Obituary of Private First Class Brayden J. Sorrick
Private First Class Brayden J. Sorrick, 19, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. He was born on August 3, 2001. He was a 2019 graduate of Bullard High School in Fresno, California. He was serving in the United States Army at Fort Campbell in Kentucky as a Chef. He was aspiring to go to Air Assault school. He will be remembered for his outgoing, satirical nature, his willingness to help others, being a fun-loving and friendly person, his loud but beautifully bright personality, his enjoyment of spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and playing football and basketball. He was rarely seen without a smile on his face and made sure everyone around him was smiling as well. Surviving family include his mother, Marika (Troy) Thomas; father, Loren (Karole) Sorrick; brothers, Austen (Ali) Scully, Jaxson and Tyler Thomas, and Skyler Sorrick; grandparents, Victor (Marcia) Scully, Barry (Diane) Thomas, and Steven (Sandra) Sorrick; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family; and very best friends, Chris Olson, Parker Harris, and Madi Mckenna. He was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Carol and Gary McGuire and Betty Thomas. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 27,2021 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. The service will be streamed live on the funeral home’s Facebook page. Military honors will be held following the service. Memorials may be made to Play 60 to benefit underprivileged youth through sport.
