Obituary of Thomas E. Alvey
Thomas Edward Alvey, 77, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 29, 2021. He was born on February 18, 1944, in Terre Haute to John and Dorothy (Carson) Alvey. Thomas is survived by his sister, Patty Beasley; brothers, Jerry Alvey (Gloria) and Jackie Alvey (Connie); children, Tim Alvey (Bobbie), Todd Alvey (Lori), and Tanya Woodall (Debra); grandchildren, Christopher Alvey (Melanie), Brittany Waggoner, Jhessail Woodall, Kaleb Alvey (Stephanie), Tannim Woodall (Beth), Zackery Alvey, and Jase Smith; companion, Peggi Landry; good friends, Sherry, Zach, and Austin Norman; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Barbara Alvey. Thomas attended Honey Creek High School. He worked for City Wide Maintenance as a window washer. He also worked as a linotype operator and printer for the Tribune Star. After he retired, he delivered newspapers. Thomas attended Pimento United Methodist Church. In his younger days, Thomas liked to mushroom hunt and fish. He enjoyed going to dirt track races and casinos. Thomas also liked word search puzzles and Honey Buns with white icing. He loved spending time with his family and will be missed. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Don Ransford officiating. Thomas will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
