Anatol Ostermann

Anatol ‘Tony’ Ostermann, late of Abbotsford, BC, passed away on April 25, 2019 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital at the age of 92. He is survived by his daughters, Marlis (Jamie), Julie (Rolf), and son, Wally; 2 granddaughters and 3 great grandchildren. Born in Paryduby near Macejow in NW Ukraine, he and his brother Valentine were largely responsible for helping their family to survive during and after the war. He immigrated to Canada in 1949 and married his wife Lydia in 1952. Although a journeyman machinist, he and Lydia chose to move on to a small dairy farm in Abbotsford in 1959. Through years of hard work and hardships they raised their family and retired in 1983. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 11:00 am at Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC, with Father Michael Pozdyk officiating. Interment will follow at Maclure Road Mennonite Cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
