Obituary of Johann Klippenstein
John Klippenstein, born to Peter and Katharina Klippenstein April 8, 1931 in Mölln, Germany, a brother to three older sisters, Anna, Valja and Frieda, went home to his Lord and Saviour, July 3, 2019. Within months, they emigrated to Paraguay where he did his schooling. His father died when John was only eight, which required him to take on responsibilities beyond his years as the eldest son with two younger brothers. His mother married Jacob Penner, joining two families and forming deep lifelong bonds. They later moved to Brazil where his earliest employment was in dairy and accounting. Here, he experienced spiritual renewal and was baptized. He fell in love with high-school classmate, Kaethi Isaak, with whom he corresponded by letter until they married in 1953. Three children soon followed: Ingrid, Alvin and Adeline. He was a devoted husband and father. In 1959 they moved to Canada, obtaining Citizenship in 1963. His interests eventually led him to be known professionally as a Realtor and Accountant in the Niagara Region until his retirement, he leaves a legacy of enduring faith, devoted marriage, generosity, humor, and service to others, as a shining example for his family, friends and acquaintances. His primary communities of faith were the Scott St. M.B. church in St. Catharines, ON where he served as Church Treasurer for 20 years, and at King Road M.B. Church in Abbotsford, BC., where he served as deacon and volunteered at the MCC Thrift Store. Predeceased by siblings, and by his beloved wife, Kaethi, nee Isaak, he is survived by his sister, stepsiblings, children—Ingrid (and Edward) Dahl of Burnaby and Adeline (and Duane) Neufeld of Maple Ridge, and Alvin (and Rita) Klippenstein of Abbotsford—and by nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered.
