Rod’s sense of humour, kindness and strength are his legacy.
Rod was born in Hedley, BC on December 25, 1926. As a young man he moved to the lower mainland with the love of his life Kay to raise their family. Rod was a milkman and a supervisor with Dairyland for 39 years. Rod retired up to Deka Lake with Kay and spent the next 15 years ice fishing, hiking and volunteering at the Deka Lake Fire Department. He had patients for hard times and a good sense of humour which served him well in his life. He loved hunting and fishing and was an expert storyteller. He spent many autumn’s with his sons up on Bald Mountain in Hedley where they learned how to hunt with gratitude and respect. Besides the love for his family one of his greatest joys was hockey; he was one of the biggest Canuck fans ever!
Please join us to celebrate Rod’s life on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Road Clearbrook, Abbotsford.
