Jeanne Weeks

Mary “Jeanne” Weeks passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at the age of 93. Jeanne was born February 27, 1926 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Joseph and Minnie Murray. At a young age her family moved to Amarillo, Texas. Jeanne graduated from St Mary’s Academy. Jeanne married the love of her life Charles “Choc” Weeks and they were married for 65 years before he passed away. Together they raised four kids, Mike, Mark, Janet and Sheri. Jeanne and Choc enjoyed numerous activities including the Palo Duro Booster Club, square and line dancing, traveling and providing meals for the Amarillo Senior Citizen’s Association. Jeanne worked outside the home, but one of her favorite endeavors was owning the Hinky Dink Drive Inn in Pleasant Valley. Jeanne’s mission in life was to feed everyone she met, and she came close! The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and nurses at Heritage Convalescent Center for the care she received. You made her feel safe and loved. Jeanne is survived by her son, Mark Weeks and wife Gayle of Canyon Texas, and daughter Sheri Jones and husband, Sam of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, daughter in law Patty Weeks of Sultan, Washington. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and their spouses, Misty Kennedy, Shane Weeks and wife Jennifer, Stephen Weeks, Nathan Weeks and wife Mindy, Seth Weeks and wife, Angie, Tim Weeks and wife Brailee, Brett Jones and wife Lauren, Chas Jones and wife Leslie, Landon Jones, Jalee Sessions and husband Kyle. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Choc, son Mike, daughter Janet, brother Weldon Murray, sisters, Elva Handley, Verla McGee, Fern Mask, Nadine Simpson and Joann McDougal. The family will receive friends and loved ones for visitation on Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
