Obituary of Ruth A Tabler
Ruth H. Tabler, long-time resident of Ann Arbor, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2019, at Brookdale Ann Arbor. Ruth grew up in Atwater, Ohio and attended Kent State University, where she earned her degree in Education. She worked as an elementary school teacher and was employed for many years by the University of Michigan as a secretary. She was a gifted pianist and enriched her family’s life with hours of beautiful music. Ruth lived her life with an aura of energy and positivity. She was warm and inviting, with a smile that lit up the room. She continually explored new adventures and ways to expand her horizons. Some of her pursuits included traveling to Egypt, art classes, photography and current events clubs and volunteering as a docent at the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology in Ann Arbor. She had a servant’s heart, volunteering for homeless programs and the Gift of Life. Ruth was also a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Debbie Arecheja and her grandchildren, Nicholas Smith, Jacob Smith and Laura Phillips. She is predeceased by her husband, David Tabler and her son, Edwin Tabler. Ruth loved her family with abandon, always seeking out ways to be helpful and never forgetting to say “I love you.” She touched the hearts of many in her life journey, and for those of us left behind, this Earth will never be quite as bright. In God’s embrace, may her spirit dance free. A Celebration of Life service will be held on October 26, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Green Wood Methodist Church, 1001 Green Rd., Ann Arbor, MI. Memorial donations may be made for the Gift of Life by using the log in www.giftoflife.org/dc/DebbieAr
