John Sheard

John Sheard Jr. of Assiniboia, SK passed away peacefully at Regina General Hospital on October 26, 2018 at age 78. He was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Sheard of Rockglen, SK; five sisters: Hilda (Bruce) Main of Glentworth, SK, Audrey (Bob) Tomlinson of Edmonton, AB, Annie (Terry) Batty of Rosetown, SK, Florence (Richard) Crashley of Big River, SK, and Rosemary (Ross) Sanderson of Saskatoon, SK. John is survived by his sisters: Margaret (Clifford) O'Koot-LeCaine of Brooks, AB, Betty (Norman) Jack of Strathclair, MN, Kathy Hamilton of Kannata, ON, Joan (Harry) Stergiou of Calgary, AB; and brothers: David of Brooks, AB, Ted (Linda) of Regina, SK, and Archie (Delores) of Saskatoon, SK. John was born February 16, 1940 at the Red Cross hospital in Rockglen, SK. John began his journey of self-determination at the early age of 15. He chose a path of self-exile from the family and remained to all an enigma - unknown. His journey kept him close to home in the Rockglen, Assiniboia and Moose Jaw areas. His search slowly began to focus for him when for health reasons he was admitted to the Prairie Villa Home in Assiniboia. Under the care of staff there he found the portion of his life and peace of mind he had sought since age 15. From available staff information, he remained a considerate resident to the end. A Graveside service was held Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Rockglen Cemetery, Rockglen. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.rossfuneralservice.com.
