Leo leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 39 years, Dorothy Campbell; children Ross (Debbie) Campbell, Jeannette Campbell, and Lisa (Gary) Vaudrin; step-children: Milton Andrews, Angela (Mike) Legault, and Brenda (Larry) Lagoutte; grandchildren: Casandra (Jess) Frame, Kent (Allison) Campbell, Ryan Shentaler, Shanda Vaudrin, Kyle Vaudrin, Shaun (Nicky) Lagoutte, Geoff (Deirdre) Lagoutte, Megan Lagoutte, Monique (Mark) Weiss, Jeremy (Regan) Legault and great-grandchildren: Norah Frame, Will Frame, Leo Campbell, Jenna Lagoutte, Miles Lagoutte, Breckyn Lagoutte, Leilah James, Ocean MacLean, Ethan MacLean, Aaron Lagoutte, Hunter Lagoutte, Jaxsen Weiss, Hayden Legault, and Carter Legault; as well as his sister, Irene Gibson. Leo was born March 26, 1930, on the family farm east of Willow Bunch in the Lakeview district. Farming was always a passionate part of his life, living in a rural community where neighbors were an extension of the family. In addition to farming, he was also a co-owner of the General Store in Harptree for about 5 years in the 1950s. Other employment Leo experienced during his working career included the UGG elevator agent in Harptree, municipal works in Coronach, and construction work for a winter in Medicine Hat. His hobbies usually revolved around rural activities such rodeos, thrashing demonstrations, vintage machinery shows and he always had his toe tapping to old time music, especially the fiddlers. Often he would bring out his harmonica and play some favourites for his grandchildren to share his enthusiasm for music. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends on coffee row; he had the gift of the gab and was quick with his wit. His sense of humor remained intact until his final days. He will be missed by family and friends. Celebration of Leo’s life took place Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul’s United Church with Reverend Marilyn Leuty officiating.
