Obituary of Georgina Simpson
On Monday October 7 2019, Georgina Carmella Simpson (nee Cini) passed away quietly in her sleep at her residence at Sunrise of Aurora at the age of 96 years. Georgina was born April 16, 1923 in Toronto to Nina and George Cini. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Robert Alexander. She had one son, George Morgan, married to Diane Susan of Aurora. She was the beloved Nana to grandsons James Robert of Brampton and Taylor Daniel of Aurora. She lived and worked in the Toronto area before meeting her husband Robert while working together at Canada Packers. They were married and made their home in Brampton Ontario. Georgina was an avid sports fan, loving the Leafs, Blue Jays and the Argos. She was a long time member of golf clubs in the Georgetown area and continued to play into her mid eighties. Georgina was an awesome cook, enjoyed fine things and was always dressed very fashionably. Her travels took her across North America to visit friends and family and beyond to exotic locations in the Caribbean, Greece, Australia and China. She was an active member of the church, most recently being a parishioner at Our Lady of Grace in Aurora. Georgina was known for her charitable work with the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, helped at blood donor clinics, local hospitals on the women's auxiliary and sponsored several foster children. She was a very caring and giving soul. She is survived by her sisters Carmella Vella and Theresa Egerton both of Mississauga. Georgina was a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews as well as many grand and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Josephine, Grace and Rita from the Toronto area. "Auntie Jean" will be sorely missed by the family. Memorial gifts can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
