The Pekin Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has lost a dear friend and spiritual leader. We are so thankful for the priesthood leader that Bill became that allowed him to faithfully serve as our Bishop for many years and to see that we qualified to have our own chapel built in Pekin. Bill was never comfortable in his call as Bishop but fulfilled it magnificently and was a great example of dedicated service to all of us who worked with him. I remember he would occasionally get flustered while conducting a meeting and might let a bad word slip from his tongue. He always felt so bad about that but it endeared him to the rest of us imperfect worshippers. It made it easier for us to confide in and confess our sins to our Bishop as we sought to repent and seek the Lord's forgiveness for our wrongs. Much like I think it will be one day when we meet our Savior, we were confident that we were facing a compassionate and merciful judge who understood our mortal frailties. Much like the Savior, our Bishop always challenged us to step and become better. I'm grateful for his service and friendship and pray for us all to continue to feel of his love in days to come. Thanks Bill for enduring in faith to the end.

Donna and I were good friends of Bill and Sandy for many many years. I met Bill while working at Caterpillar. We had many wonderful times together with Sandy, Bill and their 2 sons and our 2 sons - CUB baseball games in Chicago and St. Louis, St. Louis Zoo, carnivals, fairs, cookouts, bowling leagues, etc. Bill was a wonderful guy and so much fun. There was the time when Bill and I made a bet at work - I lost and Bill shaved my hair off. Donna was not real happy when I came home from work with out my hair. Of course, later we all had many laughs over that.

Bill, Bradley and Carrie, we are so very sorry for the loss of your father. He will be missed by many. We send our love and prayers to each one of you.

I will deeply miss Bill! I joined the church that he belonged to in March of 2015.Bill taught sunday school there and he was very good at it.I always looked froward to his teachings on Sundays. He and brother Wageman would joke around and we all would have a nice time!He always had a welcoming smile and a warm handshake! He will be dearly missed. But my memories of him will live on for a long while.

This one hurts! Bill was a wonderful man!!!! He was my Dad's millwright partner at Cat and when Dad was around, Bill would ALWAYS visit. Just to sit a listen to his stories about their antics at work would have you laughing so HARD your whole face would hurt. Bill was one of the few men I RESPECTED as much as my Father. Please know that his entire family is in my thoughts and prayers!!!!!!!
