Edward A. McGrath Jr., 88 of Boca Raton passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019. He was preceded in death by Joan, his wife of 50 years. Edward was born in Mount Vernon, New York on December 1, 1930 and was the only child of the late Edward and Lucille McGrath. Upon graduating from Fordham University, he attended officer training school and served in the Navy as a navigator. Following his discharge from the Navy he joined Graybar Electric where his career spanned 39 years.
Ed and Joan enjoyed traveling the world visiting many countries on six continents and traveled to all 50 states. He enjoyed entertaining, preparing exotic meals for his many friends and family which reflected the cuisines from his travels. Ed enjoyed family get togethers, especially beach house and holiday gatherings. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and needlepoint.
Edward is survived by his children Kathy (Jim, deceased and sons Lance and Chris); Ed (Nancy, and daughters Kate and Caroline); Jim (Caroline "Gigi" ); Rick (Deb, and son Tim); Trish (Lori); Annie (Tom, deceased and daughter Kaitlin and son Brian).

The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Babione – Kraeer Funeral Home, 1100 North Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL, 33432. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 P.M. on Friday, August 23, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 10300 Yamato Road, Boca Raton, FL, 33498. Entombment will follow at Boca Raton Mausoleum, 451 SW 4th Ave., Boca Raton, FL 33432.
