Georgina Ella Edwards

It is with profound sadness, the family of Georgina Edwards announces that after a short but dignified and graceful battle with cancer, Georgina has passed away on May 30th, 2019. Georgina was born on April 28, 1947 to the late Edward and Betty Reid of Brantford. Survived by her daughters Barb Wroclawski (Jamie) and Beth Edwards (Mike). Predeceased by her sons Paul Wroclawski (2014) and Mark Wroclawski (1995), they brought our mum to Heaven to be with them. Our Mum was very family oriented, she will be forever missed by her brothers Ted Reid, and Michael Reid (Olga) and her sister Susan Fairchild. Also missed by several nieces and nephews. The greatest joy our Mum had was being called Grandma. Eric, Alexandra (Lexi) Wroclawski of Halifax and Ava Dorey will always be the apples of Grandma’s eye. Georgina loved cooking and making up recipes (Nopeekie chicken) and reading all sorts of books, a passion which her daughters inherited. She had a natural gift of writing as well. Georgina was well loved by many friends throughout her life and they will miss her kindness, compassion and humour. The family wishes to thank the 6 West Unit at the Hamilton General Hospital for everything they did to bring comfort to our Mum, especially Nurses Gareth, Marynell and Kaitlin. We will forever miss our Mum. We love you very much, until we are all together again. Xoxo. A Celebration of Georgina’s life will take place on Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 5-8 pm in the Carriage House at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West St. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family
