Janina Kostro

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved Aunt Janina in her 94th year on February, 28, 2019 at the John Noble Home. Beloved wife of the late Paul (1999). Predeceased by her sister Marianna (2017) and brother Franciszek (2010). She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Wanda Kopa (the late Tadeusz 2010), Sophia (Marian) Rzeznik, Teresa (Jurek) Łyczek, Andrzej (Elźbieta) Karbownik, Jadwiga (Mirek) Jackow, Elzbieta (Krys) Zapotoczny and Jan (Izabela) Hyrniewicki. Dear great aunt of 5 great nieces and 10 great nephews in Poland and Canada. She will be forever remembered by family and friends. Janina was a long-time member of the Polish Alliance Ladies Circle Branch #10, Polish Canadian Senior Club and Parish Rosary Sodality at St. Joseph’s Church. The family wishes to thank all the nurses and staff at John Noble Home “Davis Court”, and all who were involved for the compassionate care given to Janina and family throughout her journey. Friends will be received at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West St., on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Parish Prayers at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic, 235 Brant Ave., on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 12pm. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Joseph’s Church or the Scholarship Fund would be appreciated.
