Mary Elizabeth Wright

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Mary Elizabeth Wright, on February 18th, 2019. Mom was married to Vincent L. Wright (2001) for fifty-five years. They had four daughters, Pat Zimmerman (Ted), Joanne Bisaillan (John), Denise Gray (Gavin) and Carolynne Shaefer (Rod). She was a grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren (predeceased by Abigail 2018). Mary was born September 21, 1926 to Winnifred and Louis Huculak and sister to Doug, Clifton, Phyllis and Carl. Mom was a fashionista. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, curling, exercising and playing bridge. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League at St. Mary’s Church. Mom was lucky to have spent many years living between the cottage and snowbirding in Florida. She was well travelled. Mom loved family time and provided her daughters with many trips to help us keep in touch with one another. Mom was deeply loved by her family and will be remembered by her sunny smile. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West St. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly St., on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11am. Interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brant County Healthcare Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
