Obituary of Randi Lynn Peterson-Adolph
Randi Peterson-Adolph December 2, 1956 - January 25, 2015 The Celebration of Life will be held at Bremerton United Methodist Church at 2:00 on Sunday, February 15. Randi lit up the stage for the first time on December 2nd, 1956. She was later joined by her co-stars Tom, in 1958, Craig, in 1961, and Kristin, in 1963. She developed her character in Bremerton, WA, with the love of music, horses and theatre. She graduated as a knighted "Lady" from East High School in 1975. Randi attended both Olympic College and Central Washington University, where she received her degree, which led to her career in teaching all over Kitsap County. She taught music, drama, English and Social Studies. Randi cherished all of her students. During one of her intermissions from teaching, she had the joy of belonging to, and traveling with Royal Diadem, a Christian theatre troupe. She settled in Tacoma, where she pioneered the piano playing program at the local Nordstrom where she also understudied as a sales associate. Enter: her leading man, Mark Adolph. They dated for five years before she finally agreed to marry him. They walked down the aisle in March 1991 in the living room of Randi's parents’ house among their closest friends and family. They then had an encore wedding in June for extended family and friends at Randi's beloved St. Luke's UMC. Due to Mark's employment, they took their show on the road to France for 6 months. While there, they enjoyed traveling and were able to visit England, The Netherlands, and Belgium. After returning to Washington, their first child was born in Issaquah on February 9th, 1993. Named after her great-grandmother and her great-great-grandmother, Johanna Marie quickly became a major character in Randi's saga. This small family was completed with the arrival of their second child on May 26th, 1997. Inspired by the great Maya Angelou and the capitol of her great-grandparents' home country, they named her Maia Roseau. Both parents were very involved in the music and theatre programs at their churches, Faith UMC and later, Lake Washington UMC. In 2001, Randi moved back to Kitsap County, bringing both girls. She resumed teaching and continued in the joy of raising her daughters. Following in their parents' footsteps, both daughters were involved in theater, prompting Randi to volunteer at Bremerton Community Theater. She then directed the choir at First United Methodist Church and also worked with the praise band. Later, she taught private piano and voice lessons. Randi is loved by her ever-expanding family. She touched the lives of so many and made a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. Her wide smile and infectious laugh will be fondly remembered. Her final curtain came down unexpectedly on January 25th, 2015. Her memory will be kept alive by her daughters, Johanna and Maia, her mother, Billie Jo, her siblings, Tom, Craig and Kristin, and her plethora of nieces and nephews.
