Hilda I. (Glazer) Lander of North Easton, formerly of Brockton Massachusetts, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Born in Boston, she was the devoted daughter of Abraham and Jennie (Novogrod) Glazer. For nearly sixty years, she was the beloved wife of Alan Lander. Loving mother of Stuart and Rhonda Lander of Ashland and Emily and Scott Worobey of Bridgewater. Adored grandmother of Julia and Lauren Lander and Adam Worobey. Sister of the late Rosalyn Fleishman. A graduate of Brookline High School and Boston University School of Nursing, she began her career as a pediatric nurse at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and was on the faculty of the school of nursing for six years. After her marriage in 1959, she moved to Brockton and was a staff nurse with the Brockton VNA and later taught nursing at Brockton Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed by New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton as the Director of Quality Assurance for fifteen years until her retirement in 1991. She was a life member of the Landy Kaplan Chapter of Hadassah and supported many philanthropic causes throughout her life. She had a strong interest in women’s issues and the Democratic Party. An avid reader and supporter of the arts, she enjoyed attending a variety of plays and musicals, concerts, and movies. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice.
