Marion J. "Red" Scarmardo

Marion J. "Red" Scarmardo, age 90, of Bryan, Texas passed away on Sunday July 28, 2019 at CHI - St. Joseph Regional Health Care Center. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 pm, Monday, July 29th at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, with the Rosary to be recited at 6:30 PM with Deacon Andy Perrone officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 30th at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. John McCaffrey and Deacon Bill Scarmardo officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Red was born March 19, 1929 in Caldwell, Texas, the son of James M. and Mary (DiMaria) Scarmardo. He was a life long member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Msgr J B Gleissner, Council 1834. Red was an avid golfer and loved playing poker. Red was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Angie (Mauro) Scarmardo in June of 2018 after 68 years of marriage; he was also preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary; and his brothers, Luke, and Sandyr. Survivors include his children, James Michael Scarmardo & his wife Suzette, Diane Leflore & her husband John, and Donald R. Scarmardo; eleven grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; sister, Pauline Restivo; sisters-in-law, Lou Mauro, and Ruth Scarmardo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
