Jozo Grgic

Grgic, Josip ( Jozo ) March 29,1937 - April 17,2018 Jozo was born in Skrljevita, Sanski Most, Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the young age of 22 Jozo left his homeland and came to Canada in hopes of a better life leaving behind his mother and two sisters which he never saw again except for in photographs. Jozo passed away on April17,2018 after a long time of suffering from injuries that he had sustained during a miss identity beating incident in 1976. Jozo was predeceased by his father Ivo, mother Vida, sisters Delfa Knjeginic and Kata Stojic. He is survived by his nephews and nieces, uncle Svetko Tutic with family and relatives in Croatia. He leaves behind his extended family, friends and relatives in Bosnia Slovenia, Austria, Italy and British Columbia. Jozo was proud to be Canadian but never forgot his birth place and Croatian heritage. Jozo will always be remembered with a smile on his face and an adventurous story to tell. Jozo , we will miss you - you will never be forgotten. A funeral mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish located at 3105 east 1st Ave. Vancouver, B.C.. In lieu of flowers , donations may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish.
