Ellon Gustafson

January 13, 1931June 4, 2019
Ellon Faye Gustafson On June 4, 2019 @ 8.30 am Ellon Faye Gustafson left this Earth and went to be with the Lord Jesus. Ellon Gustafson was born on January 13, 1931 in Munday, Texas to Clovis and Gertrue Pinkerton (her favorite saying: “I was born in Munday on a Tuesday”). She is survived by her Husband Lamar Gustafson of 70 years; Her Sister: Norma Lee and family; Her children: Linda Lee & husband Eddie Lee, Gary Gustafson and wife Kim Brown, Kristi Ferguson and husband Cliff “Bubba” Ferguson, Her Grandchildren: Lindsay Gustafson, Dallas Ferguson and wife Roxanne Ferguson, Dillon Ferguson and wife Delaney Ferguson, Great Grandchildren: Zachary Ferguson, Payton Ferguson, Levi Ferguson, Hadyn Ferguson and Easton Ferguson, along with many, many beloved friends and family. Ellon was preceded in death by: Clovis Pinkerton (Father), Gertrue Pinkerton (Mother), William Gustafson (Father-in-law), Birdie Gustafson (Mother-in-law), Michelle Lee (Granddaughter). Ellon (or Nana, as her grandchildren called her) was a vibrant woman that loved beyond all comprehension. She spent much of her time in service to her family, her community, and her friends. She never met a stranger, if she didn’t know you it didn’t take long. Ellon took pride in the fact that her faith in Jesus Christ was superior to all things on earth. She loved her husband next and then her family, followed by her friends. Ellon met Lamar Gustafson in 1948 while Lamar was in the United States Air Force. They quickly fell in love and decided to tie the knot. Ellon and Lamar traveled all over the world while he was in the service. She was able to see all different type of cultures; her favorite was Europe. She has spent most of her time being a mother and grandmother but worked as a school secretary for many years. Ellon was most notably known for her time working the library thrift store in Bertram and for her love of plants and flowers. Ellon spent many spring times collecting the peaches from her many peach trees and making her famous Peach preserves. Ellon spent most summers with her two grandsons teaching them skills of life, whether it was sewing, cooking, finances or just a life lesson. Her Family will tell you that her devotion to the Lord God was ever enduring. Her grandsons will tell you that she would back her Cadillac over to their house on Sunday mornings and lay on the horn until they came out for Sunday school. Ellon’s most important attribute was that she knew the Lord Jesus and wanted everyone she knew to know the Lord Jesus and have a personal relationship with him as well. John 14:6 says, Jesus answered. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well”. This was the life and Legacy of Ellon Gustafson, gone from this Earth but spending eternity with her Lord and Savior.
