OBITUARY
Robert Loveday
October 19, 1919 – January 31, 2019

Robert passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta after 99 years as a proud Albertan.
Robert was born and raised in Hanna, Alberta as the eldest of 7 children. The family moved to Calgary, Alberta in the 1930’s where he lived the rest of his life.
Robert graduated from Olds School of Agriculture with a diploma while still in his teens. He joined the RCAF in 1940 and proudly served in WWII as a Lancaster Bomber Flight Engineer in the 428 Ghost Squadron, successfully completing many missions until the war ended in 1945. He then became a skilled tradesman with journeyman certifications as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Carpenter and licensed Automotive Mechanic. He retired at the age of 65 from Western Co-op Fertilizer as a Millwright.
In his retirement years he studied Economics at the U of C and took up golf and travelled throughout Western Canada.
He was a proud longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion 264.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Alenora, to whom he was married for 69 years; sister Joyce; brother Cameron (Kathleen); daughter Wendy; sons Barry (Lisa) and Dale (Andrea); grandchildren, Stefanie, Jennifer, Laramie, Dustin, Caitlyn and Michael; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, their families and 1 great grandchild.
He was predeceased by his brothers Lionel and Edward; sisters Ruth and Bernice; and son Robert.
