Betty Horvath

Elizabeth (Betty) Horvath (nee Hutter) passed away peacefully on November 5, 2018 surrounded by love and her family. Betty was born in Herend, Hungary in 1926. She came to Canada in 1947 by way of New York City with her brother. She is predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Gerald Horvath. Also predeceased by her parents Joseph and Erzsebet Hutter, her brother Joseph Hutter and her sister Anna Kiss. She was a compassionate loving “mom” to all of her many nieces and nephews, who will miss her immensely. Her family was her joy and she was devoted to them whole heartedly. She loved visits and conversations about current events, as well as encouraging conversations that helped us through tough times. Everyone that she touched will carry a piece of Betty’s kindness, support and grace through their lives. Her joyful warmth was a blessing for all who knew her. She will be celebrated in heaven with open arms by Jesus and her family that has passed before her. Betty was a proud and talented artist at The Herend Porcelain Manufactory in Hungary. In Canada, she enjoyed her working career at Grand River Department Store and at The Right House, all while helping her husband Gerry with his plumbing business. She was a volunteer at Cambridge Memorial Hospital and St. Ambrose Catholic Women’s League. Friends and loved ones will be received at T. Little Funeral Home (223 Main Street, Cambridge ON N1R 1X2) on Friday November 9th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm & 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Parish prayers at 7:00 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church (210 South Street, Cambridge ON N1R 2P4) on Saturday November 10th at 11:00 am. Interment at Mount View Cemetery (80 Blenheim Rd, Cambridge, ON N1S 4H8). Luncheon to follow at Kinbridge - Churchill Park (200 Christopher Drive, Cambridge ON N1R 8K7). As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation or St. Ambrose Catholic Church would be appreciated.
