OBITUARY
Carol Jocelyn Quill
September 18, 1936 – January 17, 2019
IN THE CARE OF
T. Little Funeral Home & Cremation Centre
Passed away peacefully, at Hilltop Manor in Cambridge, Ontario on Thursday, January 17, 2019.
Carol is survived by her children Susan (Greg), Thomas (Kyungshin), Michael, and Stephen (Jennifer), and by her grandchildren Joshua, Brooke, Emma, Max, Casimir, and Lilly. Carol is predeceased by her father Dr. John Anderson, her mother Anna Dickie, and her brother John.
Carol graduated in 1958 from the faculty of nursing at Western University. She worked briefly before taking on the role of wife and mother. Carol struggled most of her life with bipolar disorder, and this carried her through many twists and turns in her life’s journey. On that journey, she developed a deep love for spiritual practices, and studied these at great length, becoming a lay minister with the Unity Church. Her love of reading and of books was prodigious, and she has passed her love for a good read on to her children. She had a love for beauty, a generosity, and a wonderful ability to create magical moments.
Carol spent the last eight years of her life at Hilltop Manor, forging many friendships there. The Hilltop community became a part of her family, and the care, compassion, and commitment the people at Hilltop showed her are deeply appreciated. Carol will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren, and by her Hilltop family.
Carol’s life will be celebrated quietly by family. As expressions of sympathy, donations to CAMH ([email protected]) would be greatly appreciated.
