Francis Sebastian Whalen

Passed away peacefully at home, of a broken heart, on Saturday, May 25, 2019 in his 74th year. Frank is reunited with his beloved wife and best friend of over 52 years, Patricia (2018). Loving father of Michelle Vieira and Paul Whalen (Judy). Proud "Poppy" of Candice (Shawn), Paul Jr. (Erin), Brian (Ashley), Nicholas and Alexander, and great-grandfather of Jackson, Kai-ya, Maya, Knox, Silas and Easton. Frank is also survived by his sister Ida Ezekiel, sisters in-law Gladys Whalen and Patricia Mercer and brother in-law James Mercer (Catherine) and will be fondly remembered by many, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Ellen Whalen, brothers David, Raymond and Fred and sisters Mary, Mildred, Margaret and Elizabeth. Family and the Toronto Maple Leafs were the most important loves of Francis’ life and he will be forever loved and missed. Frank's family will receive friends at the T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main St., Cambridge (519-623-1290) on Tuesday, May 28th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. with Parish Prayers said at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Parish Church, 53 Wellington St., Cambridge. Committal will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. Reception at Newfoundland Club, Dunbar Road, Cambridge. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Diabetes Association.
